It is a pleasure to meet you as well. I have heard of you before coming here but only briefly and I had not anticipated that I should be looking...

Wei-xiong mentioned another version of me in the hotel he'd been transported to after our last encounter back home.

[It'd slipped his mind until now, honestly, with all the information overload since his arrival in this place. There's only so much new information he can handle at once!]

He said little about you, however.

I was at the hotel as well. I don't suppose it surprises me he didn't say much about me.

Wei-xiong talked about so many things about the hotel like the Queen and not being able to wear shoes.

He said he met my brother after being turned into a child and Da Ge taking care of him.

[Is Huaisang still seething over that insensitive and unnecessary revelation of an experience he hasn't had for a decade and will probably never have again? Maybe just a little.]

The shoe thing was really inconvenient and annoying.

[ He's certainly glad that that is definitely not a thing here and to not have to deal with the Queen anymore at all. ]

Yes, he was there for a short time...he's very different from mine.

[If their brothers have differences, perhaps he and his otherworld self have differences as well. As strange as his situation is, Huaisang can't help but be a little curious. Not that he's in any rush to believe these otherworlders. He might believe the men that he's met to be sincere in their beliefs and he's not so arrogant to dismiss the legitimacy of the world they came from. Aside from Jiang Wanyin's spiritual weapon bearing some resemblance to the ring Jiang Cheng wears back home, Huaisang's yet to see irrefutable proof that any of this more than a string of peculiar coincidences and similarities.

For now, he's content to think of it all as a strange curiosity and leave it at that.]

There was really no way to escape the place so there wouldn't have been a need for such an extra step.

[ It takes longer for Huaisang to form an answer to how the two were different. He had actually had very limited interactions with the other version of his brother -- really just enough to know that they were different. Their experiences didn't match up completely. ]

Honestly, I don't know how to explain it. It was like he was a stranger that I knew but I didn't know at all.

Maybe she just wanted to feel more in control, then. Or she enjoyed people suffering without shoes.

[Of course, Huaisang doesn't actually know anything since he wasn't there. All he has is theory and conjecture based on the limited information that's been shared with him so far.]

I see. I suppose it would be similar for me if I met your Nie Mingjue. Jiang Wanyin told me that you and I are different, too, in our own ways. He is similar to the man that I know but his own person as well. It is quite interesting.
