He didn't always succeed but it'd been a good night. He'd gotten back in with his liquor haul untouched and beelined back to his room, stashing the jugs. He'd already told A-Sang when to come by so it was just a matter of waiting.

For as easily as Huaisang wilts like a plucked flower when he's intimidated, he's a fairly adventurous boy, eager to have fun and pleasurable experiences. Ever since becoming friends with Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng, this trait of his has grown and flourished. So as soon as the coast is clear, Huaisang sneaks away from his own room and through the sleeping quarters, creeping ever so cautiously with an attentive ear to any authority figures that might be roaming about.

Once he reaches the room his friends share, Huaisang doesn't rap on the doorframe or announce his presence in any way. He simply scurries inside like a mouse seeking shelter.

"Wei-xiong? Did you get it?" he whispers.

As for himself, he's brought contributions of his own for a night of fun: several of his favorite erotic artbooks and a pair of dice.

"Of course I got it. Who do you think I am?" His lips quirk into a smile as he gestures to the table. Truth be told, with Qiren and Xichen gone, it makes it much easier to do something like this, anyway, not that he wouldn't mind the challenge.

But still, his gaze darts to the books and dice. "What did you bring?"

Huiasang's eyes shine with admiration at his friend, breaking out in a wide grin. He quickly flops down beside the table and starts spreading the books out so Wei Wuxian can get a clear look at the covers.

"The Gardens of Love, Beauty's Embrace, and Ladies of the Sea collections."

He points to each book in turn, fingertips brushing lovingly against each one as he goes.

"Oh, and I brought some dice for some games if you wanna play any later."

"What games did you have in mind?" He picks up one of the books to flip through it while gesturing for Huaisang to help himself to the liquor.

"How do you even get these here?"

"I have them delivered to a shop in Caiyi Town and then I pick them up whenever I can slip away."

Huaisang picks up the jar of liquor and opens it. After taking a moment to just appreciate its aroma, he takes a swig than sets it back down.


"I figured that we could play tai sai or maybe make up our own game. That'd be fun, too, wouldn't it?"

Huaisang glances curiously around the room a bit.

"...Where's Jiang-xiong?"

"....Which shop?" Because he sneaks out a lot more.

"I can pick them up for you." He takes the jar to drink from it before shrugging a shoulder.

"Being responsible."

"Tch, sounds boring."

Huaisang shrugs, too, and opens up Ladies of the Sea to a gorgeous, intricate illustration of a naked woman in the loving embrace of a giant octopus. He takes a moment to admire the detailed texture of the sea creature. It truly is remarkably precise brushwork. Beautiful usage of color.

"My parcels arrive once every two weeks at the eatery on the far side of town. It's over by the lake."
