Oh, that's wonderful news! I was a bit concerned that I wouldn't be so lucky. Your fans are beautiful!
I was hoping for a matching pair that would be displayed in a room that will eventually become a library. In this, I will happily defer to you, preferring that it would not include anything oceanic. I feel the pieces shouldn't be too large.
Thank you for our kind words. I am flattered that you enjoyed my art at the auction enough to seek it out on your own.
A matching set for your library should not be too difficult to produce. The work that I donated was a larger piece that took over twelve hours to complete, including hand carving the wooden components, sketching designs, and assembly.
Ordinarily, this piece would be rather expensive due to the size of it, the complexity of the work put into it, the cost of its materials, and the number of hours spent on the work. Would you like your pieces to be of similar size and detail?
If you are concerned with pricing, I may be able to reduce the cost by using cheaper or premade materials.
[He might be new at this but art costs time and money, just like any other product!]
[It's good, then, that she's been frugal and saved up quite a bit to make this a possibility.]
I would like a smaller size than the one submitted to the silent auction, perhaps half the size, but I am more than happy to pay for similar quality. (I have plans to put smaller objects d'art around them, so they needn't be too large.
Aside from your preference that pieces not be oceanic-themed, is there a particular subject matter that you personally enjoy and might like to see painted? Knowing a little more about your tastes will make it easier to ensure a satisfactory final product for your home.
The stars are most lovely here, and I think it would be nice to have them themed around that sort of thing. The cosmos. I think that would be lovely. However, if that is not your style, I am also fond of flowers, like jasmine and roses. Marigolds.
I always found their instant attraction to one another very inspiring, and that they were happy and had a large family was rare for stories from that era. Many were instead tragedies.

[The ideas aren't mutually incompatible and could work together quite well concurrently, he thinks.]

However, these pieces are for you. Is there a romantic story that you might wish to see portrayed on them? If not, I may be able to make one up.
